Happy New Year!!!
I wish you the very best life has to offer in 2010 and always.

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful holiday season and if you’re like most people I know, you’re looking forward to the new year.

From what I can tell, it looks as though 2010 is going to be another great year for reading romances. If I had to put a list together myself, the decade would be half over before I finished. Starting the year off on a good note, I have a medieval release in January from Harlequin Historical – “Pregnant By The Warrior”. This is Jared’s story – you might have met him in Falcon’s Heart as the hero’s friend who came to Marianne’s aid. He’s also the son of Brigit and Randall - the couple from my story in the “Halloween Husbands” anthology.

Jared has his hands full. Which is no less than what he deserves. I mean, poor recently widowed Lea has enough going on without dealing with a past love to boot…

"Lea of Montreau has a stark choice: marry, produce an heir, or forfeit her keep. A proud leader, she's prepared to do whatever it takes to protect her people. It seems fate is in agreement when a stranger approaches…

Warrior Jared of Warehaven was once Lea's betrothed. Now that Lea's future is under threat she can't become emotionally involved with Jared again. But he has plans of his own, and he intends to use every seductive trick he knows to get Lea to comply…"

Of course, as we all know, it’s a romance so it ends well, the fun is getting them to their happily ever after ending.

Isabella’s story (Harlequin Historical) – Jared’s sister Isabella casts her hopes and dreams on an herbal love spell and gets more than she bargained for when she accidently “nets” the wrong man.

The last book in my "Commanded/Bedded" medieval series will be coming out from Harlequin Historicals June 1. Yes, for those of you who've asked, "Bedded By The Warrior" is William and Sarah's story.

Tomorrow -- hmmm, actually, make that later today -- I'll be blogging over at Romance Readers @ Heart Novel Thoughts and Book Talk: http://novelthoughts.wordpress.com/

Dragon's Lair

She's almost here…Dragon's Lair…I know the book was released via the book club last month, but I'm antsy to see it on the shelves. LOL. Can't help myself.

Even though this contemporary paranormal is a shift from my medievals, I have to admit that I'm happy with this book. (Fear not I haven't left medieval land behind, Bedded by the Warrior is scheduled for a June 09 release.) But I really like Alexia and Braeden's story. And I hope you enjoy the story, too. So far, knock on wood, the reviewers have liked it. Some snippets:

Ms. Lynn keeps the sexual tension high while focusing almost exclusively on the alpha, incredibly sexy wizard Braeden Drake (whose sometimes overwhelming arrogance might be tempered with a well-placed baseball bat) and his feisty wife, Alexia. While these two strong personalities clash with each other, their obvious attraction for each other blazes across the pages of DRAGON'S LAIR.

Some startling surprises, along with a number of clever 'gimmicks', keeps the highly sensual DRAGON'S LAIR moving quickly while Alexia and Braeden scramble for a happily-ever-after. Ms. Lynn's first contemporary is imaginative, breezy and highly entertaining.

Hi there!

Since I'm in-between books at the moment, I thought it'd be a great time to send this out. Hopefully, I remember how...maybe I should learn how to do a webpage newsletter - might be easier...

Here in my little part of the world it's now autumn. I like fall--the temperature is finally cooling down enough to curl up in bed with a light quilt at night. It's great. Too bad my allergies don't agree. I'm not sure who's hacking, snorting and sneezing more at the moment, me or my dog Katie. At least I can reach for the meds. All she can do is stare up at me with her sad, runnie brown eyes. Poor thing. I keep telling her it's just a couple of weeks...

And it's just a few days until HALLOWE'EN HUSBANDS hits the shelves (October 1, 2008). I can't wait. It's my first anthology and was a blast to do. Especially since the story "WEDDING AT WAREHAVEN" is a lead in for the next medieval series. As usual, the excerpt and cover are on my webpage. But I'll drop you a teaser from the back cover here...

Personally, I like the concept of having the three different eras in the anthology -- Lisa's is a western, mine is a medieval of course, and Chris's is a regency/gothic. I might be just a tad biased, but I do like the mix. Especially for Halloween. It just seems quirky enough to work for me.

For those who have asked...yes, finally, William and Sarah's story is written and undergoing revisions. There's no release date yet, but I'll let you know as soon as I have one.

And my first Silhouette Nocturne, DRAGON'S LAIR, will be a February 2009 release. Ah, yes, another historical author hitting the contemporary paranormal genre. LOL. But...but...but I HAD to. The marriage between the hero's friend in Falcon's Heart (Jared - the Dragon of Warehaven) and the heroine's twin sister in Falcon's Honor (Queen Evonne of Mirabilus) resulted in the birth of a race of wizards and dragons that needed a place for their stories.

Speaking of the Dragon of Warehaven and the Queen of Mirabilus, cross your fingers that my editor likes that idea...if so, it'll be the next medieval series to work on!!!

Hi!

I hope your holidays have been wonderful so far. Just wanted to take a moment to wish you all the very best for the New Year. I hope it brings everything you desire and more.

2007 is ending on a great note here. � Falcon�s Heart (January 2007 � Harlequin Historical) was nominated in Romantic Times Reviewers Choice Awards for British Isle-set Historical. Needless to say, I�m thrilled and then some.

And what I�ve called �The Book From Hades� aka my Nocturne �Dragon�s Lair� is finally revised and turned in. I didn�t think the revisions would ever end, so that�s a major load off my mind.

Plus Harlequin Historical invited me to do a story in their 2008 Halloween Anthology. I�m having grand fun with that one. It�s a relief to be spending time in the 12th century again.

Next up, after the anthology, will be William and Sarah�s story�currently called �Commanded 3� for lack of a title. It usually takes me until chapter 8 to figure out a possible title. Not that it ends up on the cover, but at least then I�m able to call it something.

The denise-lynn website is undergoing some updates and I�ll try that blogging thang again in 2008. Not promising much on that end, but I�m going to try my best to keep the news updated at the very least.

I have teamed up with some author friends on a site we call Clever Divas-Women's Interests for Interesting Women. There�s something for just about everyone there, so do drop by if you get a second or two. www.cleverdivas.com

Hello Readers!

Hope your summer is going well so far and if you're in one of the "hot zones" that you are managing to keep cool and semi-sane. And I just wanted to drop you a quick note to test the new mail program.

It's been a busy summer in the office here...finishing up revisions on Dragon's Lair -- a paranormal contemporary for Silhouette Nocturne and working on the last "commanded" installment. The second in the series, a November 2007 release, is titled "Bedded By Her Lord" and while it is available for preorder on amazon, there's no cover available yet (can you hear the whine?). We'll have an excerpt up on the site asap -- within the week, I hope.

Outside of the writing, I've spent some time trying to get a presence online. LOL -- ok, I've been majorly procrastinating. You can check out my "play time" activities on MySpace - Bebo - Shelfari - and Blogger. As far as I'm concerned, that's enough play time for me.

I'd really rather be writing or reading. Speaking of which, what was on the top of your summer reading list? I've been lucky enough to find time for:

The only other story I've had time for is an unedited manuscript of the next Elizabeth Vaughan novel...Dagger-Star. All I can say is...yummmm...if you read and liked Beth's Warlands series you're in for a treat come next spring.

And now it's time to get back to hitting the keys.
